Ara and Ivan were joined in holy matrimony in the Inglesa Ni Cristo church in Salt Lake City, in a beautiful service while they were surrounded by family and friends from all over the world. It is said that rain on a wedding day is good luck, if that’s the case, these guys are in for a real treat! It rained and rained all day. Except for a few brief moments as the photographer and myself took the couple outside for formals when the clouds parted. On any wedding day you can absolutely expect something to go wrong, or many things. When I met the Bride for the very first time, she was arriving by private car service and she was distraught. As I inquired as to the issue, it was made known that the rings had been left back at the Grand America where they had stayed the night before. Reluctant to take the advice of myself and the driver, she agreed to let her family and friends handle the dilemma so she could walk down the aisle as planned. The rings were delivered by the Groom’s father just in time for the couple to say their vows and profess their love for each other. Ara could have easily let this mishap ruin her day, but she put a happy face on and focused on enjoying this once in a lifetime experience.
Following the passionately conducted ceremony, the family gathered around the newly married couple for portraits in the church. The reception was held in the beautiful Grand Salon at the Grand America. The couple was well represented by the stunningly set room, beautiful floral arrangements, and of course many loved ones. As the night went on, and the MC introduced the couple through some fun interactive games, it was so clear that this couple, after dating for 6 years, had found true love. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as the parents, Best Man, and Maid Of Honor shared fond memories of the couple. It was touching to have a musical number performed by one of the Bride’s best friends.
As a wedding Videographer I get the pleasure of meeting some pretty amazing people, this couple is no exception. I love being invited into such an intimate time for my couples, and bringing everything together, through the power of editing to make a memorable wedding video. I was the videographer for this particular event, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t sneak some photos throughout the day. Below are a few of my favorites.
