Bridal Photo Shoot at Joseph Smith Memorial Building with Amanda
Amanda and Bracken are a busy young couple, Amanda being in her final year of college getting ready to graduate. During the busiest time of the year, with finals in full swing, Amanda and Bracken are planning their wedding. With just a sliver of an opportunity to shoot her bridal portraits, we opted for an indoor setting. So glad we did! The day started off with SNOW and changed over to rain right as we started shooting. I had a crazy vision for a rainy portrait and wanted to take advantage of it while it was still raining. We then moved inside the beautiful Joseph Smith Memorial Building and got some great pictures in the gorgeous halls. Just as we were finishing up, the sun peeked though the clouds which allowed os to get the most beautiful pictures of all right next to the massive windows. Wishing I could take credit for the location, it was all her. Glad she picked me to be the photographer!
The Joseph Smith Memorial Building, formerly the Hotel Utah, was built in 1911. This stately building, which was completely renovated and reopened in 1993, now houses the Legacy Theater, reception and conference rooms, a FamilySearch center, Nauvoo Cafe, and The Roof and The Garden Restaurants. The Legacy Theater is currently showing eight, 20 minute Meet the Mormons films that examines the very diverse lives of devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For show times see Legacy Theater. Admission is free.
