Today was the first wedding that I have shot in a while. This time of year, due to the fact that it is so cold in Utah a lot of couples wait until the spring to get married. Today, the cold did not stop Lauren and John. What a wonderfully energetic, open-minded couple. They were willing to do whatever it took to get their family portraits. There are of course several locations around the Temple grounds that you simply have to get pictures done if you get married Inside the Salt Lake Temple, but once we hall bus frozen Lauren’s arms off we took a few extra moments to get some stunning portraits inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Lauren welcomed the warmth, and I think after seeing some of the images we were able to capture, she will be thrilled we took the time as well.
For me, Christmas holds such a special place in my heart. It’s a time of family, togetherness, warmth, and peace. Just days ago we celebrated the savior’s birth with Christmas, and one way we can “feel” the spirit of Christmas is through the magic of music. Today, while we were around the Temple grounds, gathering the pictures that the Bride and Groom would cherish for their lives, you could hear ever so gently, the sound of the Tabernacle Choir playing in the background. I hope that in future years, that as they prepare for their anniversary, Lauren and John can feel closer to their savior, and remember their wedding day and hold it as sacred as we do Christmas day.
